About this speaker

Dr. Michael Baclig is a scientist of the Research and Biotechnology of St. Luke’s Medical Center, Philippines. He is also an Associate Professor of the MS Molecular Medicine Program and Basic Science Research of St. Luke’s College of Medicine-WHQM. Dr. Baclig earned his MS in Microbiology and PhD in Biological Science from the University of Santo Tomas. He has received several awards including the Outstanding Dissertation in Advanced Science and Technology by the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development, Department of Science and Technology, as well as Crisanto Almario Memorial Award for Research by the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists. His current research interests are human and pathogen genomics.
